Robotic Servicing Mission Launches with NASA Support
Core point
The Mission Robotic Vehicle (MRV) is now en route to geosynchronous Earth orbit after its liftoff from Cape Canaveral on July 21. The RSGS program, funded by DARPA, utilizes twin dexterous robotic arms developed by the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. This mission aims to extend the operational life of existing spacecraft by installing propulsion modules. NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center began supporting the RSGS mission in 2024 under an interagency agreement with DARPA.
