Core point

A unique marathon event took place at the geographic North Pole, attracting 23 runners from seven different countries. Participants ran on drifting sea ice, completing laps of a 1,055-meter loop while wearing thermal gear and life vests. Denmark's Rikke Dam and China's Wang Shengxian emerged as the winners in the women's and men's categories, respectively. Organizers noted that the course disappeared shortly after the event concluded due to the shifting ice.
