Earthquake in Peru leaves at least six dead

A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck the Andes region of Peru, resulting in at least six fatalities. The earthquake occurred on Saturday at 9.24pm, with its epicentre located near the city of Sicaya in Huancayo province. Over 30 individuals were injured, and approximately 300 people have been displaced due to the collapse of several buildings. The local civil defence office noted that the use of rustic adobe materials in construction contributed to the extent of the damage.
