Boost youth jobs by cutting employers' national insurance, MPs urge

Core point

The Work and Pensions Committee has stated that rising employment costs, including employer National Insurance (NI), are reducing job vacancies for young people. Over one million individuals aged 16 to 24 are classified as not in education, employment, or training (Neet). The committee has proposed cutting employer NI contributions for all under-25s to address this issue. Critics argue that the increase in employer NI has limited job opportunities for young people.
